Wow, lots of changes in Pet Society today. We won’t review all of them, but here are a few of the cooler features worth mentioning.
Chest Organization
Playfish calls this “better chest management.” Aside from the funny wording of this, we love the tabs on top of our storage chest that neatly separate the contents.
Improved Camera
Yay! Playfish listened to our request for a camera that takes pictures of our pets in the house! This would have been really nice to have for the Movie Award competition. Before, it was impossible for our pets to be included in their own scenes, but better late than never.
New Look for Village
Full Screen Mode has Bug
We did notice a little bug. When you choose Toggle Full Screen, you get the game in a larger format. However, when you try to go back to the normal mode, a section on the right-hand side gets squished out of the picture.
Verdict
Overall, we really like the new changes in Pet Society. We know it must be a challenge to make a visually rich game in a small format, and we’re consistently amazed by the level of details shown in the artwork of this game. Finally, thanks for the 3000 coins!

I was surprised when i found those changes.Now the cleanliness level is measured by the number of flyes around the pet,and there is no Happyness bar.
On a side note,i found this “開心寶貝” if you put it on the search bar,you’ll find a japanese pet society (Aparently called “Happy babe” or something like that)
On that game you have not only the hurdles race,but also javeling throw and long jump.Crazy XD!!!(but the last two are very very hard)

It’s crazy!! I used to get 1,500 points everyday from playing.. but now?? not even 100. Pet society sent themselves to their own grave. Might as well start digging now…

Hey sonya, i checked out that game on google images. It’s actually from china, not japan. All the words are in chinese, even the “開心寶貝” that you wrote are in chinese.
But it’s an exact copy of Pet Society! I wonder if they ignored the copyright or something.
Copyright laws are weird. You should see some of the knock-offs that come from china. Personally, I find them hilarious and Happy baby is no exception.
I do like some of the different things you can do on that game like buy new background music or decorate a friend’s tree. The item prices are insane, though but everything can be bought for CCs as well.
Sorry, I play it quite a bit so I notice stuff about it. Kinda wish I could read it, though. lol

I don’t see why everyone is making such a big deal and whining about it! I agree with you, I Like it and think change is good. I mean, it’s a free game people! It’s not going to be perfect and they won’t be able to please EVERYBODY. Have you seen the posts on PS page? everybody is complaining and saying they are going to stop playing! geeeeezzz

I also like the changes. Very nice.
I like the changes too, but I don’t like how there’s no bar for cleanliness and happiness, it was useful to know how much I needed to wash/groom my pet. Also, now I have to leave where I am to go to another shop, instead of clicking on the globe-looking button and going straight there.
Otherwise, I love the cute interface, and I’m gettting excited about the 3000 coins.
I agree! I used to make a lot of money cleaning and brushing mine and other peoples pets…but now there are no coins for brushing and I have no idea if the pet is dirty unless there are flies.
Does anyone else having a problem with brushing there pets? When I brush it makes the soap sound.

just realised that because there is no happiness bar the brush is useless….

I don’t really like the layout
It does, just that it shows and then disappears really fast. At first I also thought that I get no coins, but if you stare at the top left of your screen while visiting and clicking the buttons, you can see it. 🙂

I like everuthing exceo the fact that there’s no speed arrows for the shops, so you move A LOT SLOWER!! 😦
I like it I think some people just need to make accommodate themselves! I love the wider screen 🙂 and my tree house is bigger now YAY! The friends street is soo suburban.. I think that’s very cute ❤
I only have concerns with the Active and Inactive pet.. the pink ones are the ones I want and how do I know if my pets needs bathroom? lol

There are some things I like – the sorting of chest items for one. But I really do not like that there is no cleanliness meter any longer OR for health on pets you vist.
It seems they are trying to take away some ways to earn coins.
ESPECIALLY in the trees in the village. I bought a lucky coin to earn more coins that way. What good is it now? Will Playfish reimburse everyone who purchased that coin item?

you can still walk through the trees in your beighborhood, you have to go to ‘friend street’

cant say i am happy about all the changes -my level says 42 and my points are 18, 751… i had over 300k last night.. .so something is wrong… have no idea what.
i hope it will just take some getting used to on my side and maybe some tweaking on their part and it might shake out ok.
I like the new look, but they have done something with Paw Points. I used to have about 420,000 points. Now I have over 2 BILLION!! MY hubby went from 40,000 points to 14,000??? He has more coins than points. What gives with the points? And like LaLa said, you can’t earn many points anymore.
i dislike the changes! My pawpoints come from a 100,000 plus to a mere 16 000 plus!!!! :((((((((((
mine went from 100000 to 8000 so annoyed ><
hopefully they will fix the points thing… both my actual ones and make it so we can earn some again.. right the earning is not so good.

well , i was suprised to . i get my money already as i live in singapore . I was blank with all the new picture etc .
But i was so happy to recieve the money as i really need it to buy more clothes and furniture !

well they say you now get more coins from visiting and cleaning other people’s pet but really it can’t be much more then you used to get, just before you could brush other people’s pets as well as clean them…
I don’t care for Pet Society’s new layout at all…I love some of the features they’ve added (better camera, the noticeboard, etc.) but why they’ve done such things as take away the Cleanliness bar just baffles me!
Also, has anybody else noticed that when your pet runs off to the side, the screen doesn’t scroll along with it, so you have to go looking for it? And why have they taken away the cursors in the shops that would allow you to scroll quicker? Now there’s only normal speed, and it’s painfully slow if you already had something in mind to buy.
Personally, I think the bad features outweigh the good. It came across like PS was trying too hard to beat PetVille, but…it’s not PetVille. It’s Pet Society.
(And, even though the 3000 coins were welcome, it just kinda felt as though Playfish was fobbing us off just so people wouldn’t complain…)

Now we get more coins for visiting friends or cleaning them.No extra for brushing now. The update ……..SUCKS!
Now we get 80 coins instead of 140 when cleaning and brushing.

I actually like almost all of the changes, except that npw it’s harder to naivgate your pet between shops (no globe and home buttons, which sucks =( )

I don’t think I’ll play any more, at least until they reinstall the paw points for cleaning and feeding others’ pets.
What really bugs me is there is no category for decorating. I have to be in all to find my floors and walls. That was frustrating when I wanted to redecorate.
True. For gadgets as well. Strange that those items are not categorized with Furniture.
I know it’s been a while since the last post on this, but my pet just got to level 38 with a new brush as the prize so it rubbed in that fact when I tried to use it just now… I really miss the brushing sound when we brush the pets… bummer… if we can pet them with that sound attached to it, why not for the brush?? and now it evokes water too… bah… I don’t even care about the making coins aspect of, it just seems illogical
