Pet Society Pics – Meet the Mayor

dancing mayor in pet society

Meet the mayor! Playfish recently made the Mayor a more active part of the game.

Your pet can now chill out with the mayor:

Your pet can talk with the mayor. (Is it me, or does this question sound dirty?)

Julianne says that her pet Esque recently visited the Mayor for the first time. Imagine her surprise when he immediately hopped into bed and threw money at her! Esque excused herself and made a quick getaway—but not before paparazzi snapped this incriminating photo!

Thanks to all who contributed pictures. I haven’t been able to meet the mayor myself because the game has been running too slow for me. šŸ˜¦ But I’m happy to post cool pictures from PSA fans!

Cool Pet Society Pics 18.06.10

pet society car

Thanks to Jennefer for posting this image on the Pet Society Anonymous fan page. I love how the dad looks so worried while the daughter is having the time of her life. It totally reminds me of my own driving lessons as a teenager. My father would keep yelling, “Slow down! Slow down!” all the while clutching the dashboard with fear. (We were going about 20 miles an hour.)

This second image is by Chun, who apparently loves the anteater plushie so much that he made his pet look exactly like one.

Earlier this week, on June 16, many places in Asia celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival. Even if some of us couldn’t see the boat races in Hong Kong or Taiwan, we were there in spirit!

I recently found this funny image on someone’s Facebook profile. The lollipop totally reminded me of Pet Society, so I had to make Sushi strike a pose.

Pet Society Pics of the Week ā€“ 08.5.2010

As I was sifting through all the Mother’s Day contest entries, I came across some other pictures that captured the spirit of the past week in Pet Society. Many of you celebrated Mexico’s holiday Cinco de Mayo. The mustache and dreadlocks combo on this pet rocks! It’s parrrrrty time!

This pet has been waiting patiently for his corsages to bloom. “Never grows. Just stays the same,” he says. “Been sitting here so long I grew me a mustache.” Apparently, many people have been similarly disappointed by the corsage pots which were released in mid-April. Readers report spending up to 6000 coins on the pots (500 each). Hopefully, Playfish is at work fixing this problem so that the pots can produce the orchids and roses that were promised.

Another glitch in the game, but this one is fun. No one seems to have any idea how this happened, but we like the floating cherries effect.

This big spender loves the limited edition Peter Pan statues so much that she’s splurged on seven of them. That’s right, seven. They cost 16,000 coins each—whew!—too rich for me!

When these statues were released on April 28, they were snapped up rapidly, with more than 8000 flying off the shelves within the first two hours. However, since then, the rate of purchase seems to have slowed. According to a sign in the Boutique, there are currently 124,923 remaining, or a little less than half the original inventory, which means that about 12,500 statues have been sold each day. I’m curious to know how many have been bought with the help of real money.

Pet Society Pics of the Week – 30.4.2010

I’m visiting family this week so I haven’t had much time to log into the game, but I’ve been looking at all the photos that readers have been posting on Facebook. Here are some of the coolest ones:

skull cave in pet society
Christine really likes this skull cave; we love that she’s placed two eyeballs from Halloween in the holes. Others have reported putting in pieces of food or flowers in the same spots. The cave, released earlier this week, is sold at the Garden Shop for 4,000 regular coins.

space items from Hideeni
This pet studies space with Astro Hideeni. We love the new intergalactic items that he’s been giving out. There are 12 in all. If you’re wondering how to get one of the free gifts, click here for more information.

two volcanoes in Pet Society
Aliza made this cute comic after seeing so many pets go gaga over the new volcano mask. To get your own volcano, check out the Clothing Shop under Accessories, where they’re sold for 2,500 regular coins.

Don’t miss the volcano races! James caught this amazing moment at the stadium as three lava-spewing pets dashed toward the finish. Click here for more cool pics of Pet Society’s volcano blasts.

cypraea englerti
Hard to spell, hard to pronounce, the Cypraea Englerti is a spotted seashell that was recently released into the Pet Society pond. Juria says she caught this with an apple. Others report using lemons. This shell joins three more new species this week: Neon Tetra Jumbo, White Anemone, and Orange Seashell (see the next image).

Modo took her volcano mask to the pond and caught all the latest fish. This picture has been heavily edited (it’s not possible for pets to catch more than one fish at a time). Modo says that it’s a fun challenge to reel in a catch as the volcano erupts. Click here for a list of Pet Society fish.
